NHC Welcomes Children to our 2012 Conference

Kids At NHC

Although NHC will not offer formal programming for children, there will be many activities available for them.
Children’s groups require at least 1 adult for every 10 youth, (in addition to the Vaughn Cottage Curator or Marine Lab Staff when activities are in these two locations.)

Marine Lab Children And Youth Programs

The littlest conferees can come to the lab to hang out in our kids’ corner, which features age-appropriate experiments, coloring books, and reading materials. All ages enjoy our display tank where they can get up close and personal with sea creatures of many varieties. Age-appropriate programs and workshops may be arranged for all age groups.

Low Tide Walk

This walk, led by the island Naturalist, includes exploration of tidal processes, intertidal zones, and the animals and organisms that are likely found in each. Specimens are often collected and brought back to the Marine Lab.
